WFP, UNICEF & Mothers' Union meeting at Lambeth Palace

Anglicans in development convened a meeting between the World Food Programme, UNICEF and the Mothers Union to discuss collaborative platforms for action around the Ending Child Hunger Initiative.

This initiative (see powerpoint) seeks to meet the first Millennium Development Goal of reducing the percentage of underweight children under 5 years by half by 2015.

Current levels of malnutrition show we are behind target requiring a doubling of the rate of progress seen in the last 15 years. So this initiative is seeking to engage new and existing partners at the grassroots to more effective and cross cutting initiatives to support better nutrition for the under 5's.
