UNESCO Micro enterprise training for the Mothers' Union - 23rd - 27th October 2006
For the first time, the Mothers' Union is teaming up with the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to provide vital training on small business management for women in some of the poorest areas of the world.
The Mothers' Union has a vast network of volunteers who tirelessly reach out into the most marginalised and remote communities to offer literacy and development training and counselling, on little or no budget.
This innovative partnership with UNESCO combines the professional capacity of a highly respected UN agency with the cultural authenticity and grassroots networks of the Mothers' Union.
We pray this is the start of a good and effective relationship between the two organisations and more widely between global development bodies and faith based organisations, who together have the attributes to reach the most marginalised individuals in society and make a real impact on their lives.
